Oh! You've been doing the 6WC. I'd been wondering where you'd disappeared to.

SolfridChristin and Brun_Ugle: I'm still on the language-learning wagon, no worries :) I
just had to move again, and finally managed to settle in, although there are still a few
boxes lying around. I almost updated this week, but my internet connection fell through,
and I had to reset the service, which took a few days. So hopefully I'll be posting
within the day. I'm also looking forward to reading your logs, as well as everyone's, I
really miss the forum and everyone here!

I hope the move went smoothly and that you find those Japanese toddler books again amongst all the general flotsam and jetsam. I know all too well what it's like to uproot, and with any luck, will be packing up the wagons once again soon too (and would you believe it, I still have unopened boxes lying around since my return to UK lol).

I moved here in 2010 and still have things in boxes. Part of the problem is that I have no place to put things, but I'm also a little lazy. Now I've started making a list of things to do every day and one of the things on the list is to sort through things for an hour. I'm gradually getting rid of old papers and picking out clothes to give to charity. Hopefully when I move again, I won't have so much junk to take with me.

I still have things a box from when I moved from university to my first lodgings as a normal working adult. In 2003. Every time I've moved since the box just comes with me.
Last time I moved I made sure that all my Japanese stuff was in one box, clearly labelled, and I knew where it was. I didn't have furniture yet, but that didn't matter...
Anyway Woodsei I hope your move goes smoothly and you get back into your language routine very soon. Your dedication to your languages this year has been remarkable.

I grew up between moves from one place or another -- there were always some boxes left unopened when we started the next one, and although the last one was many years ago, we still have at least one room full of boxes, in two houses. I'm a true expert in 'self-archaeology' and giving up on stuff that I know is lying 'somewhere' but can't be dug up. Someday I'll recover all of my stuff. I keep hoping.

This is a late post, but well done on a successful move. I've moved something akin to 8 or 10 times in my lifetime--
I've rather lost count, at this point--and it is a huge and immensely tiring project. It seems that no matter
how many times one takes the initiative of organizing and getting rid of excess items, come move-time, one
discovers additional bucket loads of things which one didn't even know one had.
Moreover, it's not like the rest of life stops whilst one is moving. There's still the usual host of life issues that one
has to deal with...
Well, hats off to you for getting through it. I trust you're enjoying your new home now.
