If there is a team German I would like to join it.
My plans for 2014 are: German: get from around A1 to something useful beyond tourism, ie. B1 or more French: maintain current level (somewhere between A2 and B1) through contact with the language rather than study Japanese: enjoy what I've got (JLPT N2) when it suits me, don't let it detract from German Wanderlust: I've promised myself if I feel the urge to dabble I can learn a new script, because spotting cognates and loan words is fun 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

This year, I'll hopefully be working on the following languages (asterisk indicates certainty).
* Mandarin: A1/A2 --> hopefully to B1 (depends on my class) * Persian: rusty A2 --> ideally all the way to B2 * Greek: rusty B1 --> bring back up to B2 * Croatian: out of practice B2 --> strong C1/C1+ Portuguese: B1-ish --> B2-ish, maybe higher? French: embarrassingly rusty B2 --> regain strong B2, maybe C1? Dutch: rusty A2/B1-ish --> hopefully strong B2 Swahili: rusty A2-ish --> B1, maybe? Japanese: A2-ish from lack of practice --> B1, maybe? I suppose I might also do something with German and/or Spanish, but I don't really have any concrete goals or plans at the moment.
I'd also love to join such a team if one is created. Persian is my number one priority language this year, aside from Mandarin (which I study at university), and I'd be interested in learning about other Iranian languages if there is anyone who studies them. 4 persons have voted this message useful | |||

Priority languages for the coming year:
Irish: Push towards near-native French: Continue to improve, read more books, find more experiences to SPEAK German: Get to a solid intermediate level. I too would love to see the appearance of a Celtic Team for TAC '14, and would be willing to take charge if other's aren't available (thinking of Teango here, would love to have him involved once again!). I would also like to join the German Team which I'm sure will be possible to organise. As for French, I'm happy to chug along be myself. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||

From the current signups, AKenny and Sarnek seem to be great candidates (if you guys wanna join the team :)) And g-bod, I hope you won't be offended by my invitation either! people like you are needed in the team. I'm in.
Spanish: Currently intermediate. Aiming for B2 or C1. French: Currently high beginner. Aiming for reading fluency. Korean: Currently beginner. Aiming for progress. I want to get over my fears of talking to others and making mistakes with Spanish. With French, I am mostly interested in reading fluency, so I can take advantage of Assimil courses. With Korean, I am just aiming to improve my listening comprehension, since I am a Kdrama freak. :) 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||

Don't know if there will be a Scandinavian team but I would love to be a part of it
again. I won't be VERY active with posting but i'll update my log every now & then. My goal is to push my Swedish to fluency in 2014. I can also help the new Swedish students with new sources etc. ^^ 1 person has voted this message useful |
