Replicating my February Challenge

Here is my song. I still have trouble with the three inner verses starting with 为了, because I didn't know almost any of the hanzi before, and I had little time for shadowing. Listening isn't enough when you haven't internalized the meaning of individual words.

Yet the challenge was quite helpful. I wrote probably my best paragraph in Chinese so far thanks to it (more at my log). The translation isn't mine but I copied it mostly for the sake of rendering the English in a poetic way, something hard for a non-native. I mean, I understood the meaning in Chinese well enough.

And I didn't record anything, sorry ;) Too risky to post something of me singing in Chinese and this become viral.

Don't ask from where I have come
My home is far, far away
Why do you wander so far
Wander so far, wander so far
For the little bird flying in the sky
For the blue brook running in the mountain
For the broad meadow green and wide
I wander, wander so far
Then, is there more?
Yes, for the Olive tree of my dream
Don't ask from where I have come

Why do you wander?

Wander so far, wander so far

I managed to get the files (thanks mrwarper) for the team thread and for kraemder's as
well. Now the question is, do I repost them myself, or do I sent you all PMs of your
posts (those that were deleted) to post them back yourselves?

Let me know.

I would think the simplest would be for you to post them in bulk and use "quote" tags to
denote who wrote each post originally.

Copy/paste from my language log update today:
I still have yet to pick a March "100 minutes" challenge goal. One thing I have been slacking on lately is reading in general (including visits to Twitter which have become
quite infrequent lately), so I'm going to make a goal to induce myself to read more. My goal is 100 minutes of reading per week per language. This goal seems a bit
low, but given the amount of free time I have lately and the fact that I'm doing that for two languages, I think it is appropriate. That works out to about 14-15 min/day (if
done daily) or 50 min/day (if done only on the weekends) for each language. A 30 minute visit to Twitter each day with half the time spent focusing on posts from each
language would accomplish this goal nicely.

During the firs week of March, I manage to read Mandarin only two days (30 and 45 minutes), and still nothing for
Japanese...I hope next week will be more fruitful...

@Woodsey: I agree with Warp3, it'd probably be the easiest to copy paste the full
thing at once.

Regarding my march challenge, I think I had written it, but I'm doing 100minute per
day reading. I thought I'd last 1 or max 2 days, but it's been a week and I've kept
up. I did skip one day and another read 95min, but I caught up by reading 120 minutes
for 5 days straight.
Result is that I've read more than I've ever read in this spam of time. I just
finished a book of 240 pages that I started 5days ago. Counting that I also finished ノ
ルウェイの森 as well beforehand (had about 100 pages left).

I doubt I'll be able to keep this rythm, in which case I might switch back to
somethign like "100 minutes per 2-3 days-challenge" but let's see how far I can go.
I calculated yesterday and if I were to just read Japanese and keep this for 2 months,
I'd have done almost the whole super Challenge reading part (less than 500 pages would
be left). I know I won't be able to go on for long, but just thinking about that
possibility makes me realize how far my reading has come! :)

Is 'Writing 100 characters a week' a valid challenge? If so, then I will rush to write my first 200.

@Warp and @yuhakko: Thanks for the input, I'll just post the whole thing with quote
tags.

And you guys are doing great with your 100 minutes of reading! My challenge is the
same, 100 minutes of reading daily. I didn't do anything Sunday evening, but I'll make
up for it this week. I'm glad you're seeing a lot of benefit from these challenges.

@Anya: Keep it up, Anya! Doing multiple languages is a challenge just by itself, so it
looks like you're really doing great there.

@Expugnator: Yes, 100 characters a week is valid. The theme is 100. Even if we add in
the minutes, doing your challenge you will definitely be meeting them.

Just a shout out to the team: "100" is our theme, so customize it to your liking this
month!
