My "100 goal" this month will be to write a 100-character-entry on lang-8 about a topic
that has nothing to do with language learning. I haven't decided a topic yet.

It doesn't seem like much, but considering the fact that I haven't written a complete
sentence in Japanese in more than a year, it'll definitely require some effort.

My big "100" goal this month is as follows:

I shall set up an Anki deck called 面白いこと (interesting things).
I shall read some Japanese between now and the end of March.
Out of the things I read, I will find 100 面白いこと to go into the Anki deck.

Edit: having spent a chunk of this evening picking through Blogos articles and noting 9 "interesting things" I'm feeling rather a lot less enthusiastic about this idea. I guess I'm not good with challenges!

Should I make a log? How will the format be?

I have been learning Japanese autodidactly since I was a 4th grader (about 15 years ago) and can only read Katakana, about half of Hiragana, very few Kanji, and understand several hundreds (?) meaning of words. Still don't know how to translate a full sentence without guessing first.

I haven't been getting any email notifications for anything on this site since it had a hiccup. I'm resubscribing to everything.

I got to say that's a first. Someone who can read katakana but only half of hiragana. It's always the other way around =p.

Well, I was interested in Japanese because I love watching Digimon shows. Almost everytime a new Digimon appears, there are some data written in Japan regarding its names, type, and attacks. I wrote down all the names, memorized them, and tried to decipher what each character means. All of the names are written in Katakana, that's why I can read and write all Katakana before even learning Hiragana.

I noticed the same thing here but was wondering if it was just me as I hadn't seen anyone else mention it yet. I thought about unwatching and
rewatching all the threads I follow, but that might take a while since there are so many of them. I did just try that with this thread, though, so
we'll see if it works.
