Have you tried amazon.co.uk? Whenever I look on there they always have loads of second hand copies and cassettes of older editions, although I haven't checked if they have the old 'without toil' version. -what year did it change from 'without toil' to 'with ease' anyway? Because there's definitely lots of older 'with ease' editions.

Changed in 1982. They have nothing. Looked on amazon.co.uk, .de, .fr, .ca, .com, etc. You don't think I've tried that already? =P

I also tried ebay plus all those endings and abebooks and countless other sites. They are all usually fairly easy to come by. The Russian you can download and I have perfect condition German and Italian versions. It's just the French..

Thanks though,
- J

OK, sorry to state the obvious- it's just that sometimes translations of French titles are called something different in the UK than they are in the states (e.g. Albert Camus' L'Étranger is called 'the Stranger' in the US, and 'the Outsider' in the UK) - so I didn't know if if 'without toil' was the same thing as the older 'with ease'. Good luck with hunting it down- I will let you know if I come across it!

Someone on this site might have it, and be willing to sell? I think we should have some sort of swap shop sub forum, or an offered/wanted section for used materials.

Someone already suggested that and it got shot down.. Maybe a buyer/seller type thing wouldn't be such a great idea but I agree that a swap/trade type thing would be great.

This site offers several of the "with ease" courses. The warehouse appears to be in Northern California.

I know this is a old thread but if someone is still wondering about Assimil courses, actually, the one someone posted earlier of Powell.com was pretty good and to me, 49 dollars is not that expensive. I've paid worse for crappy courses now gathering dust in my closet, i.e. Rosetta Stone....lol also agree withe the one above; they are also around 49-55 dollars.
