Well, you singled yourself out. But there is no point in taking that remark seriously (or personally).
Did you see the context? I was just pointing out that it's stupid to claim that the longer you've been a member (and the more posts you've made), the more you owe to the forum. It's the opposite. This forum isn't even a language learning resouce per se.
I'm just disgusted that someone is quietly voting for that post and not even showing their face.

Yes, I saw the context - I get it. I simply fail to share your outrage.

I've moved in and out of my desire to contribute here on so many occasions that I now only do so because I get something out of contributing and trying to help. I am not owed anything and if I stop writing, as I no doubt eventually will, it won't matter in the least.

I, for one, would certainly miss Serpent.

Frankly, whenever I hear another human being referred to as "dispensable", I always cringe a bit. People are not "dispensable," "disposable," "expendable" or anything of the sort. It's not OK to treat people like used Kleenex. To be fair, that's not always the intended connotation of the word "dispensable". But lots of people will read it that way, especially if the context feels hostile.

Let's try to get this thread back on topic, please.

The Administrator did a great job creating this site, and if he gets some financial gain out of it, then good for him.

But this site would be nothing without us. I think it's very rude to say "you've been a member for 2414 days and made 5096 posts, time to upgrade?"
So for new members does it look like "you've been a member for 3 days and made 2 posts, time to upgrade?"
Hilarious if so.
When you insert %postcount% into your marketing, be sure to mentally fill in all kinds of numbers. Or better yet, look for a different marketing strategy.
