I was wondering: are there people interested in a TAC team for really advanced ESL (English as a second language) learners?

Count me in! I never list English as a language I actively study since I use it pretty much everyday and don't plan specific activities to improve my level as I do with the other languages I'm learning.

Also, I forgot to specify which teams I would like to join on my first post, so here's a clarification about that:
• as member: German, Iberia with Spanish; French (beginner/lower intermediate should in case two teams are created)
• as an observer (might change to member, though. still not 100% sure): Scandinavian team with Swedish, advanced English.

It's kinda hard for me to figure out who's joining team STARt right now, so I suggest for candidates to look into team thread and either contact me or fulfill entry task to clarify that you are the member of Team STARt from now on :)

What about a Japanese team? There are several people interested in
Japanese (myself included).

I've enjoyed being in the Japanese team for 2013 and I've found it to be quite
motivating. I'd certainly like to be part of a Japanese team again for 2014.

I am interested in a Japanese team. Is there a thread for one anywhere? Sorry, I'm new here.

My goals for 2014 are:
1. French: A2 -> B2ish
2. Arabic: maintain C1.

I'll join Team Start if there isn't a French team. I didn't see one on page 1 and I haven't gone through all 30 pages of posts.

It's time for me to restart the language log that I've neglected for a couple of years.

Any word about Middle Eastern team? Alef hasn't worked out so well last year, so we might start afresh instead of continuing the old thread, but we need a godmother...

Is godmother/father the equivalent of a moderator of a thread? I'd like to know what's involved before I volunteer.

If there are teams forming, we need a handy place to keep track of them all.

No, a godmother is not a moderator. She would help out with linguistic doubts whenever she can, and bring
inn tidbits of culture or language or whatever she feels like or there is a demand for, and generally be an
inspiration to the group.

Cavesa: Could you please add me on the first page? I seem to have been left out :-) I am on the Russian
team and have signed up as an observer for the Ukrainian team, and will in addition to my main language
Russian be brushing up my Italian and German and possibly do a little beginner Uzbek and Ukrainian.

Hope those who were interested in Ukrainian sign up for the team by the way.

Can I sign up for russian? I will study this year, even if it's only with MT.
