Well as said in my log I finished my March challenge as well. I read 100 pages. I guess
I read more considering everything I can see around me all day long but that's fine :p Any Idea for the April Challenge? Anyway, more importantly, I have found something here that might come in handy to everybody in search for videos and such in Mandarin (and Cantonese). I guess you all know youku, the Chinese youtube. Well turns out there a windows version of it. Just go on the website, register and get the windows version. From there you can download directly the videos from youku. Also I don't know if it's because I'm in China or not, but here although internet is freaking slow, I downloaded at about 2-3Mb/s at least. I've dled about 30Go in 2days and it contains of everything : Chinese movies subtitled in Eng/Ch or just Ch only, American movies subtitles in Ch/Eng or just Ch, other countries (Fr, Ger, Kor, etc, all with Chinese subs) for free, legal and good Quality. For instance, I have found the whole series of Tutu, the whole serie of 爸爸去哪儿, of 爱情公寓， etc. Oh, and there even a way to download directly onto your phone ;) I have taken the time to look through it but it offers the possibility at least. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

I think Youku generally doesn't work outside of China. There is a Chrome extension to get around it and there used to be several Firefox workarounds, i don't know of anything that still works for Firefox, though.

Is there a mac version available for YouKu? I found the PC version, but can't seem to find a mac version anywhere :-

I used to watch Youku videos regularly with a Chrome plugin. I didn't know the videos
could be downloaded, can you elaborate on it? Maybe through pm...I've been using letv lately, it loads much faster and seems to work 'normally' outside China. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

For the others, basically, under the video there's a 下载 button. If you go on it, it unroll a "list" where you can see a big button with written 开始下载. If you have the client, then click on it. If not, first download it from the link right above the button PC客户端。 After that you can download from the client itself and also watch videos from all the different chinese streaming websites (only Letv an youku come to mind now but there's a lot more) directly on it! 加油！ On another note: Is there gonna be no challenge in April?? 1 person has voted this message useful | |
