Is there going to be an Intermediate French team as well? (Sorry for
asking this here but the Sign Up thread is so crowded) |

I think most of the people signing up in this thread so far are intermediate, so
I'm not sure there needs to be a separate team for that.
What do the rest of you guys think? |

I think it's a great idea to keep a mix of levels in the team. Beginners will be able
to pose questions to more advanced students and receive advice on learning, and
advanced learners will also benefit from explaining the exact workings of e.g. the verb
system. They say the best test of knowing something is to be able to explain it to
someone who hasn't encountered it before and still get the point across!!
As for team names, here's a few suggestions: Triomphe,
fraternité, Aigle.

I think we should be open to all levels. I consider myself high beginner or low intermediate (at least with reading, which is my focus).
I think the intermediate and higher learners can offer a lot to beginners. Although beginners with their first language would probably be better suited for the STARt team.
I really think a team with primarily newbies is not a good idea. There should be a number of more experienced people on a team. Both TACers and language learners in general.
Just my two cents. :)
I like the name Triomphe. :)

Well, I am not studying French actively, but rather maintaining. Last year I missed a lot for not being in a
French team, because I could otherwise have taken part in hangouts and challenges. So, I am most
interested in being around for this and I also plan to work on active skills.

I'm interested in joining, but I've never quite grasped how TAC works (and I can't seem to find a sticky that explains
it beyond a simple, vague paragraph). Would someone mind explaining how TAC works or pointing me in the right
direction to where the complete rules have been written? :)

The primary goal is to progress as much as possible in your chosen language(s). But as part of a team, you do the following:
(1) Write a log about your study activities or whatever interests you about the language (trips you take, conversations you have, things you watch or read, etc.).
(2) Read the logs of your fellow team members and encourage them or help them out with suggestions / explanations / corrections when you are able.
(3) Participate in team activities if they are planned.
