In the grand tradition of having a thread about goals for the year, what are your language learning goals for
2016?

French
I'm looking to somehow get through Unit 18 in FSI Basic French (3/4 of course). I'll also review earlier
lessons, trying to inch up automaticity with certain spoken patterns.

On the listening front, my goal is to get through Year 2 of the
Ten Year Reading Plan, with French as
the primary learning language.

This doesn't seem like a big stretch goal, it's more the tortoise who keeps in the race.

What do you hope to do?

French
Finish La révolution fran©aise by Albert Soboul. I have read 154 pages. The book has 598 pages of text.
Finish A la récherche du temps perdu. I have read about 60% of it. I want to just listen to the rest, because for me Proust is much easier to listen to than to read. LiteratureAudio has some good readers for Proust.
Plug along reading Zola's complete works. Kindle estimates that I have got 274 more hours to go. That's just a little more than 10 days, right? Piece of cake.
Watch and understand the movie Amélie. I almost dread this. The movie is so hyped. Can it be nearly so good as its hype? Or will it make me throw up?

Spanish
Maybe I will pluck up the courage to read Cortázar's 2 big fat volumes of short stories. The stumbling block is that the volumes are too heavy, even though paperback, to read comfortable.
Proceed with my FSI-like recordings of movies to be listened to and repeated. Maybe by year's end I can tell the barkeep, "No quiero cerveza."
Hopefully find some good contemporary Spanish fiction (whose authors are still alive) and read some of it

Ancient Greek
I should finish Longus' "Daphnis & Chloe" by the end of this week (it's Jan. 7 today).
I will begin Plutarch's "Dialogue on Love" (Hayes and Nimis edition) after "D&C," and I should finish it by the end of January.
Then on to Euripides' Alcestis. After that, don't know. Herodotus, Thucydides, the dramatists, and The Greek Anthology are on my hit list, but what I can manage to finish this year I do not know.

I've discovered Memrise in a big way, and I hope to improve my Russian among other
languages by using it during 2016.

Then please help me to make that wish come true by posting in that thread. I still have so many ideas to post in that thread but the last post is mine, and I don't want to double post outside of my log.
