German: Time modifiers always in Dativ? | ||

1. Im Sommer wandern wir gern.
2. Sollen wir in den Sommerferien in die Berge fahren? Are time modifiers always in Dativ? Esp in 2: die Berge is Akkusative but den Sommerferien is Dativ. Also, random question: How would I ask "Could I write standing up?" "Könnte ich bitte....schreiben" is as far as I got. In general, how do I ask if I can do activity X while doing activity Y? Not necessarily. It's just that most prepositions commonly used with time expressions (in, an etc.) require the Dative (when used with time expressions).
Could I write [while] standing up? = Könnte ich im Stehen schreiben? I listen to music while jogging. = Ich höre Musik beim Joggen. 3 persons have voted this message useful |
