How can I write Russian on my computer? Do I need a special keyboard?
Home > Languages > Russian > FAQ > Writing

To write Russian on your keyboard you need to cyrillize or russify your computer first. This is quite easy with modern operating systems and there are many tutorials on the web on how to do so:

If you want to have each key on the keyboard labelled as the Russian character it commands, you can either buy stickers and glue them on your existing keyboard (cheap and easy) or buy a Cyrillic keyboard. In both cases your computer will certainly impress your friends if nothing else!

I bought a Russian keyboard from this guy some time ago. Professional but not cheap. Most people will probably not need the softwares he sells but the keyboards are fine.
