Honestly if I think it will interest me I will read it. I don't mind what it is fiction, non-fiction. I don't think we should be basing it on what is easy though. And to be honest, 'living in Algeria as woman' isn't exactly making me want to rush off to the FNAC.
If it is downloadable, e-bookable even if I have to pay for it, I'd be much happier. But don't mind me.

Only as evil as you'll be in 445 days, and I'll have left it behind me long before; by tomorrow, by your logic, at which point you'll be 1/3rd evil and increasing.
C'mon Extralean, drop the silly numerology. :-)

On a book related matter, because I am not someone to spam meanignlessly. I am now looking for another one. I know there are some French Book Worms out there, hopefully some male ones, and there is no better place than here to put your favourite books out there, except for maybe my TACLog.
Vai: Proof? I find your statement doubtful, a millenium is a rather long period of time.

I would *definitely* jump in an read Assia Djebar! I am studying French francophone litterature and postcolonialism this semester, but she's not among the authors we are reading in class.
Extralean, you have to stop discriminating against books about women.:P Women read books about men, right? Like... all the time?
As long as I have the time to spare and can get my hands on the book, I would participate.

Discriminate is a bit of a harsh word dear Tricours. It is just that I prefer to identify with the characters. The life of a woman in Algeria, no doubt interesting, moving, and a marvel of french literature, doesn't sing out to me as having too much that would interests me, or that I could relate to.
I followed your recommendation with the female author of Attentat, whatsherface, and was happy enough. You should be too. :p

Hey, I always identify more with Heathcliff and Mr Rochester in the Brontë works, than with any of the women :P
Assia Djebar has a quite fancy record by the way (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assia_Djebar). I would say it is one of those good names to have read. Plus the side _francophone_ but not _french_ could be interesting. Or rather, it *is* interesting.

Alright, well if you insist Tricours, I will give it a go when I get paid or can find a way around the price. I really should go to the library more.

I would definitely take part, count me in :)
I think 2 books a month is the best way to go.
I hope we can start the fun soon ;)
At the moment I'm reading "Vanity Fair".
