Levi, I think in this case there are two alternative spellings; "cacahuète" is probably the prevailing one.

Ah, yes, you are correct. I had never seen that spelling before. A Google search confirms that "cacahuète" is by far the more common variant, even though most people say it with an "ou" sound.
