POLYGLOT SKYPING (SKYPE)

Being known on You Tube with my videos inspired another of the You Tube polyglots to contact me with the idea of doing polyglot skyping. I had the idea in my head anyway that I wanted to do this, if I ever get the chance. So it was very easy for me to decide: Yes!!! It turned out to be quite long call covering various topics and speaking (both of us) fluently in 5 languages. I must say, it's fun, moving from one language to another speaking with the same person and it can be a very effective language practice. Making a video about speaking in different languages is only short and it's only a demonstation to a general audience that somebody is capable of changing languages in one single conversation. But when two people, who both have this ability, come together and put this into practice, then you get an amazing fun game!

We decided to continue this polyglot skyping. One of those 5 languages was Spanish and I (having not spoken Spanish for several years!) discovered that my Spanish came out fluently so I was very surprised about myself. We both weren't native speakers of this language but I felt as if I were speaking to a native speaker.

I'm surprised how much of your video I understood! The English was easy of course,
because it's my native language, and Esperanto too, just because Esperanto is easy in
general. But it's been a while since I've really intensively practiced my German (I do
try to keep up with it here and there though), and yet I still understood nearly every
word of it. I even understood most of the Dutch, even though I don't speak the language
and have never studied it beyond the beginning of the basics; it is sufficiently close to
English and German that I'm always surprised how familiar the language is when I hear it.

Nice listener's reaction. Always good to know that my vidoes are useful for language learners.

MY VIDEO NR.4

will be uploaded on Sunday (13 September). We have recorded it today and I will speak a lot about my study equipment. The whole video is spoken in German(!), which is a tribute to the wishes of many learners of the German language.

The easiest way to find my videos is to look at my channel:

Video Nr.4 is online now.

Just got to watch your videos for the first time, and I'm very impressed. I knew you had writing fluency, but watching you speak has really proven your abilities. Congratulations.
