RykketidThe one I find the funniest and I hope not to hurt anyone's feelings, is that there is a sexual practice that we call spagnola and in Spain they call it cubana. No idea of how it is called in Cuba :-P[/QUOTE wrote:

We use the phrase "**** turca" (Turkish ****) for that particular practice (asterisks used to hide offending words).

I don't know who actually came up with these things up. I heard about all this for the first time in this Spanish thread on WordReference, where some people confirmed some of the terms, but never heard of the others, or said they weren't widely used.

Maybe this is some kind of an ongoing joke. The Danish wikipedia, for example, has the following list, which surpasses in quantity even the German one:
Samlejestillinger. It's on the bottom of the article. There's even Esperanto: "er stimulering af penis mellem fødderne." And this one if my favorite: "Latin er smssex med fremmedord." Sexting with foreign words??? :))

We are very straight forward in Norway. I have never heard a specific word- much less a nationality used
about this. Not that it is a topic which would naturally pop up in any conversation I might have :-)

"hacer una española" :P

In Norwegian, "å ta en spansk en" means to cut corners, to take a shortcut, to do something slightly illegal as an
easy fix.

Not really a big deal, I was just trying to wrap my head around the fact that...

[exactly!] ...there are some people with enough free time in their hands to think of it, then engage in (admittedly) very awkward conversations with total strangers just to make that chart?!

I'm not sure if that's slightly amusing or utterly depressing :):

Well, if it's for science... ;)
