Hello. Hello? What just happened?
I just realized that the HP movies deviates from the book.. when they do their punishment with Malfoy in the Forbidden Forest toward the end of the first book, it's Neville, not Ron, that goes to the forest with Hermione, Malfoy, and Harry. I thought the movies were faithful to the books.
I thought Rowling made sure they didn't do that kind of thing! =(

Yes, and the changes get more flagrant as you go through the series (has a nasty flashback to movie 6)

That's kinda disappointing.
I have only read the first four books. (Don't tell anyone, though. I am saving them to be "new" material for Spanish and French.) =)

Well, I have officially decided not to do the Super Challenge in Croatian. Besides the fact that I feel like a -A2 most of the time (can you go negative? LOL), I can't find enough resources online, and I can't afford to import stuff to the US.
I could probably do a Half Challenge with just films, but it would mostly be with subs, and I'm more concerned with conversational skills for Croatian.
I might try to get through the first Harry Potter book once I finish with Colloquial Croatian and Serbian and Assimil Le Croate, and if I can fumble my way through that without any audio help, then I might try to work through all seven books by the end of next year. I'm making my Spanish, French, Italian, and German Super Challenges a higher priority, though.
I noticed that the Game of Thrones Season 1 DVD set (from UK Amazon) has Spanish and French audio, plus a host of subs (including Croatian and Turkish). I may cave in and buy that one of these days, which would be about 10 hours of movie time. I haven't looked around for other movies or box sets that have Croatian subs yet.

I watched part of Game of Thrones in French. The main actors were dubbed nicely, but
some of the secondary characters were a bit rough. Props if you can figure out how to
say "dire wolf" - the closest I could make out was loup gerant, and it sounds
like a fun word to know.

Well, wow. Ask you you shall receive!
This Subtitles Site has thousands of subs for Croatian, among many other languages. Granted, it's not listening practice, but I think it could still be very beneficial. So I am back in for a Half Challenge with movies only.
On another note, I'm working through both Assimil's Using Spanish and Using French books. I've only gotten a few lessons into the French book, and it seems like it's at the right level for me. The Spanish book is really intensive, though. The lessons are two or three times longer than the lessons in Spanish with Ease. It seems like each lesson focuses on one or two verbs that each have dozens of different idioms attached to it. Andar, passar, coger, poner. Most of the idioms make sense to me, and I would recognize them, but I am needing a lot more active learning in this book than in the last. It's good to have found a book that is really at my level, and I am enjoying it a lot.
EDIT: They have subs in Croatian for Stargate, too. Whee! I think I actually learn more when reading subtitles than listening in the target language and reading English. At least at this point. =)

I have also added a Half (films only) Challenge for Turkish as an excuse to go back to watching Turkish dramas without the guilt. It's like giving yourself permission to eat chocolate without feeling guilty about it! (Well, that, and Turkish has been on my hit list for a long time, and I was surprised how much I was learning when I was watching them.) I will probably add Turkish to my structured study next year. Right now, I am focusing on finishing the four Assimil courses I'm working on by the end of the summer.
I also added a Half Challenge for Russian. (Which I can blame on Cristina, maydayayday, Serpent, and AnyaPop. They have a mental hospital, and they invited me. And who am I to turn down a good language nerd party?) For me, it was a commitment to Russian being one of my next focus languages. Whether or not I'll be able to finish it by the end of 2013, who knows. But I'll try! I ordered the English-based Assimil Russian course last week, and I'm expecting it to arrive this week.
(Don't be surprised when I add Portuguese later, either. I told myself I have to finish the Advanced Assimil Spanish and French books, and Italian with Ease, before I can start working on Portugais du Bresil. I am aiming for September for all three of them.
I started counting my Assimil writings as only half a writing for the Challenges. I copy the dialog and both of the exercises. Some of them are closer to 200 words, others are not. Either way, I will stop counting "copying" once I get to 50 (half the goal) for the writing part of the challenge. Since I'm closer to a beginner for Italian and German (and with the complexities of French orthography), I think this corresponds nicely with my goals for all three languages. Counting them as half will bring me to about 50 writings for each language by the end of the course, so it works out nicely.
The Spanish writing with Assimil is a different story. Most of those dialogs are a lot longer than 200 words. In fact, I have thought about not copying them because they are so long. (Each lesson takes 2-3 pages in my spiral notebook to copy.) But I know I learn better by doing that, so I will continue as long as my hand doesn't fall off!
I'm really frustrated with my listening comprehension in Spanish. I can read Spanish with very little problem, but unless someone is talking slowly or I have the text in front of me, my brain can't keep up with what I hear. I watched Toy Story the other night. I started watching with only Spanish audio, and I was missing too much. As soon as I put the Spanish subs on though, I was fine. Any suggestions for dealing with this?
For anyone in the US, check out Schoenhofs for Assimil and other target language books. I just got three Assimil books (no audio) for $50 with free shipping. Assimil Russian, Perfeccionnement Italien, and Hungarian with Ease. I only got the Hungarian book because it bumped my order over $50 and gave me free shipping. :D
