Good luck for the 6WC to all participants! Would love to join and am very tempted, but will be travelling around China for most of the coming six weeks (leaving in two weeks from now), so I don't think I'd achieve much. Next time I'm in, hopefully. :) Also have to cop out of the skyping for now, due to a lack of functional headset and general time shortage, but both of those should get fixed once I get back from China at the end of March. (And Pimsleur Russian will most definitely be a constant companion to kill time on the 48-hour boat, or while hitchhiking, or on stupidly long train rides...! Who knows, I might end up getting through part two while I'm over there.)
My favourite letter in Russian is the cursive capital п (looks just like pi, yay!). ю and ф also amuse me. :) Can't draw a proper д for the life of me, either, and щ and ц usually end up looking awkward, too. Nonetheless, cursive cyrillic is such fun to write!

I don't quite understand why д is so difficult for people to write. Unless, of course, they are writing it in print.
Personally, I was taught to always write in cursive, in which д is written like a simple 'g.'

I don't hate it, I think it is beautiful, but I just can't do it. I am struggling hard enough just writing letters that imitate the printed script.
What time are we having the Skype session on Sunday? I have informed my family that I will be unavailble to them at 17.00 h Norwegian time and an hour/ hour and a half from that. I am, as I said flexible, and can do it at another time if that time is incovenient for the rest of you, but I would need to know about it fairly soon, since planning our family weekend is like planning a military operation. :-)

Great news: I have just had a nice conversation with a
gentleman from Kazakhstan via sharedtalk. @Tecktight: you are right, it is a very useful tool for finding
people and practicing your language skills with them.
Although he detected that I am not an English native speaker, he said that my Russian pronuntiation was
OK. |

Can you already maintain a conversation? Wow! Congratulations! =) I can barely do that, only when I'm
drunk =P |

It was not a fluent Russian conversation, I guess because Of lack Of practice, and because at first it was
hard to find a theme of conversation. That is why we need a previous plan for the skype sessions.
As for the Russian letters, I think that it would be a good idea if someone could get a sample of handwriting
from a native Russian speaker, so we could compare. Yes, I am more fluent when I am drunk, too :)
About the skype session, 17 hr Norwegian time is Ok to me.
