I was spending my time trying not to die (hate migraine attacks) and will be hosting a family convention next Sunday, but I'll join you for the next Skype meeting after that.

Top of the pops week 4

In Sweden a full-time working week is at most 40 hours. Woodsei did 62 hours and Cristina
46!! I'm totally flabbergasted by that kind of commitment.

But remember, there's another chance for anyone to beat them this week ...

I doubt that you can beat Woodsei, but I am back at work, which gives me less of an opportunity to study than last week, when I was on vacation, so you have a good chance of beating me - particularly because I am hosting a family reunion this week end. Fortunately I have 3 cousins coming in from Chicago, and most of my other cousins do not speak English that often, so I'll probably get to do lots of talking and translating to and fro in English. Russian is something I will have to plan a bit more, but I have the day off tomorrow, so I will be able to do lots of Russian then, and on Friday I am picking up my cousins at the airport, which will give me a couple of hours of Russian in the car to the airport, and basically the rest of the day in English. I am then counting on them having a massive jet lag, so that they want to go to bed early, and I can do some more Russian in the evening.

Otherwise I note that you have made it up to the top 5 on team Sputnik, aloysius, congratulations! I also note with satisfaction that we are still 4 team members among the top ten in the 6WC, kudos to drsavo and Teango! Thanks again for the lovely graphs, and GO team Sputnik, for another fruitful week!

Beautiful graphs, as usual, Aloysius. Thank you! And I DO consider everyone competition,
that can still beat me, Christina :) I fell short today in terms of study, but I'll be
back in shape! The working hours here in the US are 40, as well :)

You guys are doing great! I'm proud of my phenomenal Team Sputnik members :)

@tarvos: You can log in all languages you are studying, whether they're target or not.
Just specify that it's English. My target for this challenge is Japanese, but I also log
in Russian, which I try to really stick to by doing 30 minutes to an hour daily. Best of
luck!

Well the thing is I don't formally study English as much as I consistently speak, read, and write in the language every day. Might log my French and German though. It kind of...doesn't feel like studying, it's more like second nature.

Tarvos, I guess you are a special case, because you have lived in Canada, and speak English like a native.
I think we all count things a bit differently, according to where we stand. I do not count films in English with
Norwegian subtitles at all, because they represent no challenge to me, but I do count 50% of the time if I
watch a film with English subtitles or no subtitles. Some count 100% if they watch a film in English with
English subtitles because they consider English more of a target language. We all adapt it to where we are.
