Mein zweijähriger Sohn liebt "Thomas und seine Freunde" sehr. Er hat schon viele Lokomotiven, Holzschienen und Gebaüde, aber er (vielleicht sollte man "wir" sagen) braucht immer noch andere Sachen.
Kann jemand mir sagen, wo man in München dieses Art Spielzeug finden kann? Er hat eine Holzeisenbahn Sammlung. ************** My two years old boy loves "Thomas and his Friends". He (maybe this should be "we") has already lots of trains, tracks and buildings, but it is never enough. Could someone tell me where would we find this kind of stuff in Munich? German Monthly Report
1 - Activities done a) Every day: * Random read on Wikipedia. * Bayerischer Rundfunk. Now, I'm alternating among alpha-Centauri, Ich mach's and Geist & Gehirn. I'll listen more to the last one during the next coming weeks. b) About four times a week. * Anki. * Writing. I've started to write more often in Lang-8, as initially planned. * Grammar studies. * Random listening during commute. Mostly "Perfectionnement Allemand". c) About twice a week. * Reading news (from RSS feeds). * Etymology search. * Listening to music. d) Once a week * 1 and 1/2h private class. 2 - Progress so far Another very good month. About Lang-8
Lang-8 is well known here and one of the greatest sites for language learners. I follow the Portuguese messages, besides the German and Italian ones. At least in these groups, you'll find very supportive and nice people. I've never seen any slight attempt to embarrass or discourage other learners, but, unfortunatelly, I'm sure that now and then this is going to happen. However, it is interesting to notice, though not surprising or unexpected, that each language group behave in slightly different ways. For instance, my fellow brazilians, as usual, try to be very warm and are often ready to initiate a friendship relation. Anyway, as I said, the main features of all groups are kindness and encouragement. I've also realized that it doesn't seem to be a good idea to post everyday or very long texts. After starting to listen to Geist & Gehirn I'm now even more interested on neurobiology.

Old German handwritting For me, one of the many reasons to learn German is because our family has some letters from many of our ancestors and we want to read that. However, they were written in the old style, of course, so I'll need also to learn how to read that. I've bought this book, which received many good reviews.
