Prepositions are often hard and I should study them to improve my English texts. Anyway, here is a picture of German prepositions related to geography and movement.

New data appear about the very interesting and important subject on the origin of Indoeuropean. Read here the Zeit Online article about it.

I'll read the paper, which has been published on Science Magazine, to see if they really have some new strong evidence for their Anatolian Origin theory.

"Das ist ein kleiner Schritt für einen Menschen, aber ein großer Sprung für die Menschheit"

Rest in peace, Neil Armstrong. In spite of Cold War and Moon Race, Neil Armstrong was one of my few Childhood Heros and will remain respected by me forever.

The above very famous phrase is also a good exemple of how this kind of sentences might be helpfull in the study of a language. Adjectives declensions, n-word declension, masculine -ung word exception, all in a single expression.

Great idea. Some of the famous phrases of John F Kennedy would be good too:

"And so my fellow Americans; ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can
do for your country"

I couldn't quickly find a native translation though, and I wouldn't like to publicly
venture my own unidiomatic one :)

"Sprung" is formed by ablaut from "springen" (similarly to "Gang" from "gehen" or "Zug" from "ziehen") and doesn't contain the suffix -ung, so this is no exception to the rule. All nouns with the suffix -ung are by all means feminine!

Thanks a lot, Josquin!!

I thought that der Sprung, der Vorsprung, der Ursprung, der Eisprung, der Aufschwung, der Schwung would be exceptions to the "-ung feminine rule".

Maybe in this site we could find it, but John Kennedy's phrases are locked.

Anyway, Socrates said: "Heirate oder heirate nicht. Du wirst beides bereuen." My wife doesn't like to learn languages, it means that I'm safe :-))

Armstrong war ein gewöhnlicher Mensch, der ein wicklick Außergewöhnliches erreicht hat.

Es ist anregend, von einigen deiner Fortschritte und Erfolge zu lesen. Wir sind in
demselben Team, aber unsere Methoden sind komplett verschieden. Du bist recht ordentlich
und kennst schon viel Grammatik. Respekt!
