Assimil Experiment: El Catalán sin esfuerzo - Day 72 - Active 11, Passive 66
I'm much happier with my today's active lesson, this time, almost no easily avoidable mistakes, like missing the "to be" verb conjugation.
During the last passive lessons, I'm missing at most three words, which I've been unable to understood through context and/or Romance similarities.
Time required for individual lessons (minutes)
Nou (9) + seixanta-quatre (64) = 30
Deu (10) + seixanta-cinc (65) = 35
Onze (11) + seixanta-sis (66) = 35
Total time for groups of lessons (hours)
1 to 7 = 2.1
8 to 14 = 3.1
15 to 21 = 2.8
22 to 28 = 3.8
29 to 35 = 3.1
36 to 42 = 3.4
43 to 49 = 2.7
50 to 56 = 2.0
Active (1-8) Passive (57-63) = 3.6
I would add about 1.0 hour for each group due to repetitions during commute.
Total time
1 to 56 = 35.7 hours

Assimil Experiment: El Catalán sin esfuerzo - Day 74 - Active 12, Passive 67
Today's active lesson brings me mixed feelings, because I could remember very well some not so easy stuff but forgot a few basic words ...
Two more passive lessons to finish and nothing else to say.
Time required for individual lessons (minutes)
Nou (9) + seixanta-quatre (64) = 30
Deu (10) + seixanta-cinc (65) = 35
Onze (11) + seixanta-sis (66) = 35
Dotze (12) + seixanta-set (67) = 31
Total time for groups of lessons (hours)
1 to 7 = 2.1
8 to 14 = 3.1
15 to 21 = 2.8
22 to 28 = 3.8
29 to 35 = 3.1
36 to 42 = 3.4
43 to 49 = 2.7
50 to 56 = 2.0
Active (1-8) Passive (57-63) = 3.6
I would add about 1.0 hour for each group due to repetitions during commute.

Assimil Experiment: El Catalán sin esfuerzo - Day 77 - Active 13, Passive 68
I'm very happy about active lesson 13. Besides remembering some harder words, I've used important structures correctly.
At this point, as one could expect, my main problems are: conjugations and personal pronouns. The solution for both problems is: work with lists and tables, memorize as much as possible and try to be aware about interference issues.
Tomorrow, if everything goes smoothly, the last passive lesson will be done.
Time required for individual lessons (minutes)
Nou (9) + seixanta-quatre (64) = 30
Deu (10) + seixanta-cinc (65) = 35
Onze (11) + seixanta-sis (66) = 35
Dotze (12) + seixanta-set (67) = 31
Tretze (13) + seixanta-vuit (68) = 33
Total time for groups of lessons (hours)
1 to 7 = 2.1
8 to 14 = 3.1
15 to 21 = 2.8
22 to 28 = 3.8
29 to 35 = 3.1
36 to 42 = 3.4
43 to 49 = 2.7
50 to 56 = 2.0
Active (1-8) Passive (57-63) = 3.6

I was enrolled in the Jan'13 Tadoku, and would like to say that it has been a very interesting activity. It becomes soon very clear that most of us won't have time enough to read books or anything else in order to "win" the contest, but it's really much better to think of Tadoku as a marathon.
The most important thing is to find out the best rhythm that you can keep throughout the month and try to stay with people that are reading at about the same pace.
I've read three books, "Il Nome della Rosa" and "Il Pendolo di Foucault" by Umberto Eco, and "Le Città Invisibili" by Italo Calvino. Great books that are worth reading by themselves, much better if they are also helping you to improve your knowledge of Italian.
I'll left the last passive lesson of my "El Catalán sin Esfurzo" for tomorrow.

Assimil Experiment: El Catalán sin esfuerzo - Day 79 - Active 15, Passive 69
Passive phase is over. Tomorrow, I'm going to start reading and listening to native stuff. Let's see how much I've already learned. Lesson 70 is a review that I've already seen much earlier, since it talks about personal pronouns. I don't like their tables, those on Wikipedia are much better.
As we can see in the picture below, the pace of Assimil doesn't achieve the natural speech speed. It means that we'll certainly have some trouble to understand real people talking, but I don't believe that this is going to be a hard problem.
I'm once more happy about today's active lesson. The main point is that I'm getting many important structures right and I don't care (much) to forget words like "escullera" or "rebost".
I'll do an analysis of word frequency, add it here and write my review about the passive phase on our Assimil Group Log.
Time required for individual lessons (minutes)
Nou (9) + seixanta-quatre (64) = 30
Deu (10) + seixanta-cinc (65) = 35
Onze (11) + seixanta-sis (66) = 35
Dotze (12) + seixanta-set (67) = 31
Tretze (13) + seixanta-vuit (68) = 33
Quinze (15) + seixanta-neu (69) = 31
Total time for groups of lessons (hours)
1 to 7 = 2.1
8 to 14 = 3.1
15 to 21 = 2.8
22 to 28 = 3.8
29 to 35 = 3.1
36 to 42 = 3.4
43 to 49 = 2.7
50 to 56 = 2.0
Active (1-8) Passive (57-63) = 3.6
Active (9-15) Passive (64-70) = 3.3
I would add about 1.0 hour for each group due to repetitions during commute.
Total time
1 to 70 = 40.0 hours

Assimil Experiment: El Catalán sin esfuerzo
Word frequency list (words that appear at least 10 times). Some words are represented under a single entry. For instance, <la> and the forms <l'>, <'l> and <-lo> are all in the <el> entry.
All diacritics have been erased, because either I don't know how to handle them with the software, or there is no way to do it.
Using TextSTAT. See also this HTLAL thread.

I really like your quantitative approach to language learning. I don't think I would have the patience for that myself, though!
How is your Catalan going this week?

Thanks. I'm an engineer and cannot avoid some tendencies :-))
I've started to read "Sandàlies D'Escuma" and at this point it could be said that my reading skill in Catalan must be, at least, B2. Of course, Assimil has helped a lot, but knowing French, Spanish and Italian makes Catalan really easy.
My bookshelf has already two other books that I'm planning to read very soon, "El carrer de les Camèlies" and "La plaça del Diamant" both by Mercè Rodoreda.
On the other hand, I must admit that I'm not keeping in this active phase the same previous rhythm.
