It's 2.30 pm and we're still here at the relatives'. We will probably leave for home in the evening, around five pm.
In the meantime, I've written two short pieces on Lang8 (around 200 words in all), though I haven't received any corrections yet.

It would be too weird. :) We'll start for home later today. Around 12 noon-ish. :) |

Ha, Ha! I guess a lot of things we do would be seen as crazy by other people. I quietly got up at 4:30 this morning so I could have a little extra
time before the day gets busy. I'm taking a break right now. ;-)

The West Wing S1E01
Update:
I ended up learning some new words from the episode(which I have entered into Anki):
Orage: storm
Cacahouète: peanut
When I looked up cacahouète in my Petit Robert, I discovered two new expressions:
Travailler pour des cacahouètes: work for peanuts
Trois fois rien: Nothing, insignificant (Literally, three times nothing)

How much of TV do I understand?
News and speeches-Very easy
These are as easy as falling off the Eiffel Tower. :-)
(Probably because English and French use the same words for formal occasions.)
Tintin-Easy
I can understand almost everything other than the odd subjunctive or an unknown verb conjugation. But these are few and far between.
Jo-Difficult
I can follow the plot well enough. But I miss most of the jokes.
The West Wing-Very difficult
This TV show is really very hard for me. The actors have a flair for witty monologues. They would be fun if I could understand them without having to rewind every scene.

I watched the first two episodes of L'avatar-le dernier maitre de l'air and I enjoyed every minute. I must thank emk for recommending it.
I have always wanted to watch Avatar. I may even have wached an episode here and there but this is the first time I am watching it seriously.
Like emk says in his post, the episodes are short (22 min. each) and the dialogues are simple. I don't understand everything, but I understand enough of it to be able to enjoy the show.
I am looking forward to episode 3. Can you believe it? :-)
