For 2013 I am definitely going to be chipping away at Mandarin - basically right from the
beginning. As a side project for when my brain gets tired of it though, I am going to be
reaching for Italian. I have a history during this challenge of dropping out maybe not
even half-way through the year, so I am hesitant about putting myself forward for a team.
I will post again regarding this at a later date. I am very much looking forward to the
challenge of beginning my conquest of Mandarin, and finally getting a stronger grip on
the Italian I should have acquired properly through my dad when I was younger :P

Wow! Team う has three members already! GO TEAM!

Are cranes mythological? I've seen them walking around in the fields here, but I could be hallucinating ;-)
I like the idea of using a symbol for longevity. We definitely need some of that in TAC.

My main targets for 2013 will be Arabic (Egyptian and written) and Croatian. I also hope
to continue Italian on the side after the Assimil experiment is over. I would like to be
on a team, but I'm not sure what kind of team as this is my first TAC and I'm still
pretty new to the forum.

I don't want to jump straight in and say I'll join as I'm very busy in my final year in
college, though I'm seriously considering it! If I do I'll be taking French and possibly
Scottish Gaelic or Irish (I'd love to tackle a mountain of books in Irish).
Is there a possibility of a Celtic Team? Goidelic and Brythonic?

Cristina and I have discussed continuing together with the TAC 2013 as a Russian team,
and at least me and her will be on it; I am open to joining a second team if something
in
the direction of Scandinavian, Celtic or Hebrew languages appears (though I am not
holding my breath for the latter two).
Language: Russian, Swedish, Breton, French, (German - maintenance mostly). I may dabble
in other things.
Team: Russian! Details will follow as soon as we know who else from the Russian TAC
will
continue with us on that journey!
@Above poster: I study Breton, which is Brythonic :) If a team does not get off the
ground, you are welcome to pop by my log.

Brun Ugle - Haven't you thought about getting a "mobilt bredbånd"? They're cheap to use
and some doesn't even charge anything if you don't use them.

Thanks for starting this thread, Brun Ugle!

Suggest extending this period past the first week of the new year; perhaps till Jan 19th (the end of the 3rd
week)? New members might make New Year's resolutions to learn/brush up on a language, but not discover Htlal
until the second week or later.

I'd already figured you for team う or whatever we decide to call it. We'd talked
about Skype before, but it never happened. I think it could be a good idea if my stingy
old landlord ever fixes the internet enough so that I can be sure of a good connection.
As it is, I sometimes don't have any connection and other times have to walk around
with my laptop looking for a signal. |

But it would be fun to have a group where we can chat in Gaijinease!
