Yes, I had my latest Russian class two weeks ago I think. I've spent more time with
Hebrew and Romanian lately, but on Sunday my first train will leave as I am spending 3,5
weeks traversing all of Eurasia! In fact, that means you won't see a lot of posts, but
I'll try and keep a travelogue while I traverse the continent. I've detailed the stops in
my log, but I will have more than changes at Moscow, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and
Vladivostok.

And since I will be staying on trains, with friends and in hostels, it means I have to
seriously speak Russian to survive. English is not enough here.

Nice to see some life on our team thread! I cannot boast of much Russian studies lately, but that is soon
going to change, as I will be going to Ukraine on the 28th to do a two weeks' intensive course of Russian. I
will sit for the A2 exam, but they said that based on the online test I took I am just between A1 and A2 right
now ( that is what 6 months of inactivity will do...) so I will have to work very hard just to pass that.

As an integrated part of my life I have large amounts of Spanish and English, but I have not done much
formal studies since February. I have worked 20 hour days for the last 4 weeks (working full time at my job
and trying to get major renovations done to my house before my daughters came back) so when the Ist one
and her Spanish friend turned up today, so that I could relax, we had a 4-hour afternoon nap. When I catch
up on my sleep, I trust I will be able to even do some studying.

Quite a few non-language (or only tangentially) things going on here, sorry, thus the 'inactivity'. More on that in my log in a few days, I think. Glad to hear you're all also inactive rather than dead :)

Regarding Russian, I'm reworking the Princeton Russian Course again (hopefully once and for all) with ericounet, and I'm trying to make Russian an integral part of my life as well, even if only to put all my materials to some real use -- just so you don't say I'm teasing you by dubbing stuff 'tangential' and then not telling anything I'll let you in a bit:

A very nice Russian couple I've mentioned here before decided they wanted me to tutor their eldest 13yo son, which involved teaching him Spanish all along, but 'charm' factors started to pile up and I've ended up spending almost more time with this family than with my own (adoption jokes have been made) whenever I went to the coast (weekends, but we're reversing that for the summer). While I'm having an immensely good time with all of what we do, I think it'll be even better if I can get us all to devote more time specifically to languages, and to do it 'seriously'. We'll see how it goes, and we better do, because the next milestone to really force myself to learn Russian would involve moving to Russia and I'd rather test what I can[not] do while I'm literally in a comfort zone ;)

Nice to finally hear about you guys again!

Just like Josquin said, I've been contantly "blessed" with Russian people in my life lately haha I try to practice it at CouchSurfing meetings, but now I've started going to the gym, and my wife is speaking in Russian with me! Big yay!

I guess we should schedule another Skype session soon. What do you guys think?

Agreed, even though I still wouldn't be able to talk much.

Sundays from UTC 3PM on (and on) are ideal for me.

I'd be a nuisance for scheduling currently, so plan it without me, and I'll drop by if I can make it.

I have a house full of teenagers (ok., only four, they just feel like a dozen) so I am unavailable right now, but I
am in after August 15th :-)
