I know I'm pretty late, but here is my February challenge.
I completed it some time ago, but just did not find the time to post it.
It's a song by Chaem Chaemram, And the name of the song is
(Please kindly listen until the end.)
Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNw26kVGsis
Understanding the lyrics was easy enough for me, and after listening to
the same song 10-20 times, I could sing along for most of the part, except for one part
that goes
quite fast. Otherwise, I would say I learned most of the song by heart.
Here are the lyrics and the English translation.
Do you have two or three minutes?
If you’re not too busy with anything
Can I talk to you briefly about a couple things?
There’s a thousand things that have been bothering me
I’ve condensed it already, now it’s quite short
Only the really important parts
Please kindly listen listen until I finish finish finish and you can add or delete
things
As you please
If you have enough time for me bother you
Please listen to the things in my heart for just a little moment
Closing my eyes, I see only your face
How many mornings have I waken up and found I’m thinking of you? It’s become normal
My heart is floating out after you every day and night
I don’t know what to do
I want to have you at my side and for you
To be the last person I love for the rest of my life, I won’t think of anyone else
You’re the only person who my heart sees as “the one”
If no one has gotten your heart yet, I’d like to take this chance to tell you
However you’ll feel about me, it’s up to you
I’ve kept it in for so long until my heart has overflowed like this
Because I thought you had a boyfriend already, I’ve never been brave enough
But now, it’s much more than I can forbid my heart that loves you
If I continue to hold myself back, I’ll go crazy
Don’t just go blaming me

March's challenge seems good. Though, I've only looked at the website briefly, and I'm
having a hard time finding something at my level. They are all above me. I might have to
just push it and do the best I can, though I not sure if I'd really get much out from
doing that. I'll have to play around some more on the site.

billyshears66, I wondered about that too. For people who are at the beginning of learning a language, those lessons are really difficult! And I was surprised that some of the lessons I'm working on are only considered B1, but in my opinion they are much higher than that. One thing I found is that even though some of them are too hard, they do include a lot of hints and tips and they really walk me step by step through the lesson, so that by the end I have actually learned something, even if I got lots of wrong answers. Also when I get a wrong answer, there's an explanation of the correct answer.
So if you want to use the lessons, just hunt around for the easiest one and work through it even if you're getting everything wrong. You can't help but learn something, even if most of it is too high. Just being able to toggle back and forth from English to target language while reading the instructions can teach you new words.

Hi puffin1981! We're taking new members until March 31, so you've come just in time. Have you familiarized yourself with the TAC rules (see the beginning of the thread)? Most importantly, you should post regularly about your activities and stay up to date on your team mates' journals. If you think you can commit to that, I'm all for taking you on board. We're currently three who study Thai and will be happy to have a fourth one on the team.

I second Bakunin! If you're still around, I'll be glad to add you to our member list. Just post the link to your language log here :)

March team challenge: I picked one of the two lessons at level 3 (the hardest for Thai, there's nothing on 3+ or 4), on Pirates in the Indian Ocean. I did the first few activities a while ago and have just finished the lesson now. I had no problems doing the various activities, it was clearly on the easy side. I would say that the lessons are useful if the material presented is still somewhat of a challenge. I think it's excellent stuff for beginners and low intermediate learners.
