I stumbled оn some online resources hоstеd by thе Univеrѕity оf Техаѕ in Аuѕtin including Cultural Interviews with Turkish-Speaking Professionals which may be handy for improving passive abilities in business Turkish.

I’ve just started to learn Turkish and would like to begin exploring Turkish culture a bit. Does anyone of you more seasoned learners or Turkish natives have any recommendations for cool Turkish music? Anything from "folk" to pop to indie to traditional goes, but I have a slight preference for quieter, more traditional music or "folk" as a stimulating background during language study. At the moment I sometimes listen to Turkish radio stations on "TuneIn Radio", but it’s a hit or miss.

Sezen Aksu has a beautiful voice, and would be a great singer to start with.

Bahane is her
collection of traditional ballads.

@kanewai and @renaissancemedi: Thanks, both recommendations are pretty cool. Sezen Aksu really has a beautiful voice, and the Ottoman stuff is just awesome! :) I love those Middle Eastern scales, they sound dreamy and melancholic, as if they were from another world where time passes more slowly.
