Portman's a native Hebrew and English speaker. She's studied German, French, and Japanese at university; I've no idea if she's fluent in any of them, although she was apparently able to converse with the German crew on the Berlin set of V for Vendetta.

According to a fellow here, she's forgotten most of her Japanese. Not sure about French.

Add Viggo Mortensen to the list... He's staring in major movie that just
came out in Spain, Alatriste. According to IMDB, he "speaks fluent English,
Spanish and Danish, but he also speaks Swedish and Norwegian reasonably
well."

Here he is being interviewed on a Spanish news program.

Good call on Mortensen! Even though he's modest about his Swedish, it's apparently good enough that he was the Swedish national hockey team's interpreter at the '80 Olympics.

It's as I suspected with Portman. She probably claims all those languages since she took them in school but probably isn't fluent in anything but her two native tongues. She isn't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, nor does she have a lot of spare time.

Viggo's Spanish is very good and his accent is Latin American since he spent some of his childhood in Venezuela and Argentina. His fluency in Danish comes from having lived in Denmark (bio).

Kristin Scott
Thomas
speaks English and French - on the basis that England
is a monoglot country that means she's a polyglot! :) She lives in Paris
and appears in a number of French films. I think her accent is still quite
"English" though when I've seen her in French films. Not that I'm an
expert! :)

Oh..and what about
Tchéky Karyo
and
Jean Reno?
(both French and English at least) and Sandra Bullock
(English and German)

I just need to point out that the ABC/CBC abbriviations are not only limited to America (ABC) and Canada (CBC).

BBC is also quite frequently used for British Born Chinese. I don't think it is a mainstream term you would hear used by media. But amongst 2nd generation Chinese here, it is quite frequently used!

Another one to add: Chinese-American actress Lucy Liu. She's fluent in English, Mandarin, and Italian; she also speaks some French and Japanese, which she is apparently still studying. (Her Japanese skills are evident in Kill Bill.)
