Nice. Then I'll have European Portuguese only. If there is someone for it, that is. I don't know whether
everyone that's been wanting to join Team Iberia has expressed the language, let alone versions.
@ Cristina: under proper TAC spirit, you should be enlisting to snuff out Uzbek, not sniff it out. :P |

Yes, I am going Team Iberia for Portuguese specifically, and am focussing on EP

Even the ones focusing on the Brazilian variant will benefit from your input, Luso. It's always good to know if something's not actually a mistake but a difference. |

I'm going to let you in on a little secret: due to the telenovelas, I'd say most people in Portugal can recognise which expressions are "proper" Brazilian Portuguese and which ones aren't. However, if you ask us to come up with something, then it's far more difficult.

And you're welcome, whether you are Springbok, Bafana Bafana, both or neither. I'll try to help you, even if I'm not from Madeira. :P

I know you have a lot of exposure, yes :)
Whereas Brazilians are more likely to label the European usage as mistakes :D

Serpent, don't scare my "clients". You know the way we approach grammar in this country is almost religious. You are just being mean. :P

I didn't mean to be mean! lol.
I meant that Brazilians can be clueless about the European usage, and their comments need to be taken with a grain of salt sometimes. So everyone will benefit from your presence, even if my unflattering comments hopefully don't apply to Expugnator :D

I would join a Scandinavian and a Turkish team.
Norwegian: B1 -> C1
Spanish: A0 -> B1
Turkish: A0 -> B1

So, as this is my first year participating, I'm anxious to see how this all works. What do we need to do to get the Mandarin Team thread open so we can start introducing ourselves and voting on team name and stuff.
How do we get that going?

I'd be interested in just joining a Mandarin team this year - one team is enough for me I
think, especially if I'm trying to be more active (after an abysmal failure of a year...
sorry teams!)
Languages:
German: ~C1 ish now? Maintain that.
Mandarin: B1 -> C1 (hopefully, if I work hard)
Russian: A0 -> A1/2 (many false starts and this is the language I drop when things
get tough/hectic)
Spanish: A0.5 -> A2 (yeahhhhh, I picked up Spanish again...)
I've seen there's been a mention of a Mandarin team on page 17, is that happening? :)
