Oh, I am sorry I'm late to the party. Life has been brutal the past two weeks, and I'm just trying to catch up with all things HTLAL.
안녕하세요. That is all I can write in Korean. I am still working on reading the alphabet, much less writing anything. :)
My name is Kerrie, and I live in the US near Chicago. (I hate winter, although that is another story! Winter here has been so brutal this year) I'm a single mom - I have two beautiful twin girls that are eleven. I work long hours at a crappy factory job. I really like Korean dramas, and I want to learn a little so I can understand some of what they're saying. I have no dis-illusions that I will be able to speak Korean by the end of this year, but if I can learn a little I will be happy. :)
My focus this year is to get over my shyness and start speaking Spanish, in the hopes that I can use it to get a better job; and to work on my reading skills in French, so I can use Assimil more efficiently. Korean is kind of a side project, but I think that makes it my "fun" language. :D

This is going to be very short as my active use in Korean is still very limited.
안녕하세요. 제 이름은 제이슨이에요. 저는 미국 사람이에요.
(Hello. My name is Jason. I am an American.)
I've been studying Korean off and on for awhile. I think about two or three years, however how it went until last year was I'd study it for a month or two and then move on to another language. Last year I finally put some good time into it, but after a few months, I got bogged down in a few side projects and even though I was working on my Korean, I wasn't advancing.

A couple of years ago I posted a link to the online videos and transcripts in several foreign languages at LangMedia.
Since I first stumbled on the site, the colleges involved have added more videos (and their transcripts). For your interest, here are the Korean ones:
Korean in Korea (includes some video reenactments of situations described in phrasebooks; a handy way to see the link between stock phrases and body language)
Enjoy.
