Mine would be:
1. Swahili (one of many beautiful African languages, sounds exotic, and I've always had an interest in the countries where it's used
2. Pashto (not well known beyond its native speakers)
3. Hausa (another African language that interests me)
4. Igbo
5. Yoruba

If I could magically become fluent, my choices would be:
Arabic
French
Russian
Spanish
and one of either Japanese, Portuguese, or Italian
This is mostly based on being able to enjoy the humanities - the poetry, the novels,
the operas, and the movies - in their native tongues. Except for Portuguese, which
would be all about the men ... though I'm sure there are some good books in Portuguese
too.
In reality? I really am hoping to be functional in five more languages by the age of
50. But my real life choices are to be
fluent in:
French
Spanish
functional in:
Arabic
Turkish
Italian or Portuguese

Well, these are what I'm actually aiming for in real-life, but if I can get a sprinkling of fairy dust to help me on my
way, I won't object:
German
Russian
French
Spanish
Finnish
Also, Estonian would be on there, but I'm going to learn that magic or not, so I figured I'd leave it off the list.
;)
