So, wir haben schon wieder geredet, und es war wieder schön :) Aber da war wieder nur drei von uns (ich, Ccaesar und g-bod), und ich glaube, dass diese Mannschaft kann ja besser machen. Lass uns wieder einen guten Tag finden und wieder versuchen, Leute
gleiczeitig zu sammeln. Es ist auch die 6WC Zeit, vielleicht kann es uns auch helfen.

That would be wonderful, Ccaesar! At the moment I’m quite busy renovating and moving to my new
apartment so I’m not be able to spend much time online, but I hope to be done by the end of summer
or mid September at the latest. If I happen to see you on Skype and have some free time I’ll contact
you :)
Regarding vocabulary, when I first used Anki I wanted to learn as many words as possible so that I
could enjoy native material. I followed the “if I know this word in English then I must learn it in
German as well” principle…even though deep down I knew it was stupid. I began learning English
when I was around 5 years old, since then I watched and read countless movies/books/tv shows
whereas I studied German only a couple of years.
Fast forward to today, I decided to give Anki another try. When I was a uni student one of my
professors suggested me not to make comparisons between the different languages I know because
it will eventually lead to frustration. He, and my native language professors as well, also suggested
me to focus on useful vocabulary. Unfortunately that wasn't always possible while at uni since we
had to learn certain word groups, and they weren’t necessarily the most common ones. Since I’m no
longer in uni now, I can follow my professors advices to the letter ;) This means I’m adding only those
words I come across more than once or words I would likely use in a normal conversation.

This is a good idea, actually. I would participate even though I am way past
beginner's stage :) |

Sure thing, anyone is welcome to join! I'm not a beginner myself…only a somewhat intermediate learner out of practice XD
