Oh, please don't worry, I'm feeling better now but as I said I have the flu so my own thoughts were probably not at peak level. Then writing half asleep at 4AM tends not to help either...

In broad daylight everything was much clearer. Since I started doing more repetitions on books and films/series I liked than doing 'new' materials, I pretty much engage 'commentary mode' by default (except that I don't write down my reflections) so I think of it more as a metalinguistic thing, but it's undeniably valuable. Perhaps from a strictly linguistic point of view it's more useful the less accustomed you're to it, because you do it less on 'auto-pilot'?

Anyway, my going over my own text was just because I didn't feel like looking for something to analyze, of course I'd prefer that we worked on published texts rather than our own writings here ;)
