Oh, by the way this is a hibou:
Whereas an owl can also be this bird ( chouette in French):
The English word "owl" is a bracket term for both species. Russian and Bulgarian also have separate words, as do most Slavic languages (although not all people know the difference ;p).

Owl (hibou) = Búho
Chouette = Lechuza
Main difference is that "Les hiboux" have those horn-like or ear-like feathers and "Les chouettes" don't.

Bubo (Latin/Greek) = horned owl

According to both of my bilingual Esperanto-dictionaries "owl" = strigo!!!
According to PIV-vortaro de Esperanto:
strigo = nokta rabobirdo

бухал /buhal/ - hibou; sounds suspiciously close to the Spanish 'búho'
сова /sova/ - chouette; like in Czech.
