Hi MerryCrassmas, May I first take this opportunity to say what an awesome username yours is. Secondly I see no reason why you couldn't join now, seeing as it's only early January. Could I ask you to let the organisers know that you'll be joining Team Freutsch and tell them the languages you'll be studying - so French and German plus any others you plan to study for the TAC. I think you're expected to do this by writing in the TAC 2012 Official Thread. I'd also be grateful if you could reaffirm that here as well, as one of the moderators will have to add your name and languages to the first post of this thread. For example, will you also be studying Russian for the TAC? :] I'm not sure whether you've read the previous pages of our team thread, but several things have been suggested by various members (Adrean, ReQuest and Spanky come to mind) and it'd be good if you could indicate whether you'd be interested in going through with their suggestions. ReQuest is suggesting that we write something about ourselves so we know who our teammates are and what we're all doing exactly. We wondered whether it would be more appropriate for us to do that in our own logs, but I just wrote my own in this thread. Bald habe ich vor, einen Kindle zu bekommen, damit ich soviel meiner großen Büchersammlung wie möglich loswerden kann. Meine Mutter zieht nach meinem CELTA-Kurs um und kann es sich nicht leisten, meine große Büchersammlung einzulagern. Deshalb versuche ich soviel wie möglich zu verkaufen, und dann verlasse ich mich auf meinen funkelnagelneuen Kindle. Hello everyone,
I hope it's not too late to join the team. I've been learning French for 3 years but I've only recently started German - and in doing so ran across this forum doing searches like "German C1 in 6 months - is it possible?". I will sit the DALF C2 in about two weeks so I'm really keen to talk as much French as I possibly can with as many people as I possibly can. Even if there aren't any official TAC activities that are finalised, I'm more than happy to accept chats on Skype. As for German, I started studying at the start of November. My girlfriend is German and lives in Berlin. I live in France teaching English and the school holidays are about 2 weeks long occurring every 5 weeks or so. I think this is quite good for me because I study as much vocabulary and grammar as I can while I'm back in France then go and take them out for a spin during the holidays. I've only done it once since November (i.e for the Christmas holidays) but it's been really good for my German and I have a feeling I can get the C1 (TestDAF 4) I need for the Masters entry (Sprachlehrforschung) in Hamburg in October. FR: Salut tlm, J'espère qu'il n’est pas trop tard à s'inscrire à l'équipe. J'apprenais le français il y a 3 ans, mais l'allemand, je viens de le commencer - et ainsi je suis tombé sur ce forum en faisant les recherches du genre "Allemand C1 en 6 mois, est-il possible?". Je passerai l'examen DALF C2 en 2 semaines, donc j'aimerais bien de parler français le plus souvent que possible et avec beaucoup de gens. Même s'il n'y a pas des activités officielles, je suis tout disponible à skyper et je le ferais avec plaisir. l'Allemand, j'ai commencé à l'apprendre au début de novembre. Ma copine, elle est allemande et habite à Berlin. Moi, j'habite en France et j'enseigne l'anglais. Il y a des vacances scolaires qui durent à peu près 2 semaines et qui s'arrivent environ chaque 5 semaines. Je pense c'est tellement bien pour moi, car j'étudie le plus possible de vocabulaire et de la grammaire allemande pendant que je suis en France et après faire en petit tour avec eux pendant les vacances. Je ne l'ai fait qu'une fois depuis novembre (pour les vacantes de Noël), mais c'était déjà exceptionnellement bien pour mon allemand et je me sens capable d'obtenir un niveau de C1 (TestDAF 4) dont j'ai besoin pour l'entrée au Master (Sprachelehrforschung) à Hamburg en octobre. Diese Möglichkeit hatte ich seit November (während der Weihnachtsferien) leider nur ein Mal, aber es war sehr gut für mein Deutsch, und ich fühle mich in der Lage zum Deutsch Niveau C1 (TestDAF 4) anzutreten. Das ist deshalb wichtig, weil ich das Zertifikat brauche, um mich im Oktober für ein Masterstudium (Sprachlehrforshung) in Hamburg zu bewerben. Can I join this team if I plan to study both French and German this year, although at different semesters?
I plan to study French for the first few months to get a better foundation and then begin my studies in German, while reviewing/expanding my French. Since I am a beginner in both languages (I have flirted with them in the past, but never got far with them and have already forgot most of what I learned), I think it would be a bad idea to begin them simultaneously. 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||||||||

Hi team, I hope your studying is going well, and Jack, congratulations on your recent CELTA endeavours.
I recently saw a production of Waiting for Godot and have decided to translate portions of the English language play back into its original French in my Freutsch log, if you are interested. I received an EN/FR bilingual edition of the play for Christmas (so much becomes easier in terms of receiving awesome presents when you pick them out for yourself in advance and give very broad hints to others about what they should get you!), and while I have not yet read the play in French, the English text mostly has short, often repetitive sentences, so hopefully it is good as an low intermediate learning opportunity. FR : Je vais faire une traduction française de la pièce Waiting for Godot. J’ai un text bilingue (EN/FR) pour vérifier mes traductions. Le vocabulaire sera peut-être utile pour le futur au cas où je dois attendre quelqu’un ou je dois me battre contre un autre vagabond. DE: Deutsch? Es ist ganz unmöglich!!!!
