Hanuman - punk-influenced rock
Love Psychedelico - sixties-style rock
Misako Odani - singer-songwriter, a poppy early Tori Amos
Mr Children - well-known pop-rock band
OreSkaBand - all-girl ska band
Shonen Knife - pop-punk band of which Kurt Cobain was a fan; they sing in English and Japanese
Shugo Tokumaru - indie-folk twee singer-songwriter
Spangle call Lilli Line - post-rock with vocals
