Is there a German team? I don't want to let my German rust...
EDIT: And I will ask after a Middle-Eastern team again. Arabic/Persian/Pashto, anyone?

A few people have expressed interest in the previous pages (myself included!) so I assume
we've got a team? :) |

Done, now we need a godmother. :)
EDIT: Please sign me up as observer for the German team.

I agree with Josquin and liammcg...it would be great to have a team
again for people studying Celtic languages in 2014! This year we had 14 people studying
in our motley crew: 10 people studying Irish, four (Scottish) Gaelic, three Breton, and
two Welsh. Everyone's been really supportive, and having a presence for Celtic
languages for the first time in the TAC challenge has I think made a difference. It's
provided us with a fun meeting place in which to share our experiences and resources,
and also helped raise awareness of these fascinating lesser-known languages. Perhaps we
could simply call ourselves Team Celts in line with the names of other groups
next year, what do you think? |

I like "Team Celts". Simple and to the point. I have to go away for a few days and so
won't be active here. Please count me in for:
Celtic Team (Celts?)
German Team
p.s. Teango, I too enjoyed our Celtic team greatly and hope that you may be able to
lead the horde oncemore (if you feel happy to do so!)
p.p.s Oh @above poster, I think Josquin has already expressed interest in becoming the
Godfather of the German team. Apparently he lends his services and protection at a
reasonable price ;)

I would like to suggest an intermediate (or higher) Spanish team, as well as an intermediate (or higher) French team. I think both languages have enough learners here to do that, and I think the support we can give each other is of a different nature than "all Spanish/French learners."
I think there were a few problems with the Romance teams last year:
** First, so many newbies sign up (which is great), but most of them don't last. So the number of active people left on the team is a lot smaller.
** Second, grouping a whole family of languages together makes too many divisions. I would rather be part of a French team and a Spanish team than be part of a "Romance" team that has people studying 6 different languages.
Just my two cents. I'd be happy to be a leader for an intermediate+ Spanish team, if no one else wants to step up. :D

In 2014 I want to focus on Mandarin, so if we can get a team together for that, I'd participate. My level is somewhere in the B range.

I am not the most reliable TAC'er, but I'd join up and do my best if there were a Persian or Iranian specific team.
