For each language something else?
I think the greek team (if there is one) should have an από μηχανής Θεό, a deus ex machina.
For turkish it could be a cin (or something else?)
For Italian definitely il padrino!

I just volunteered to be the team's godfather / guardian angel / guru.
Now that you mentioned it, I can also be godmother. Since we've come to this point, I can also be the team's devil's advocate, judge, jury, and executioner.
Just not Santa Claus, nor Tooth Fairy, since finances are a bit tight. |

:)))))) I'm sorry, I had only one cup of coffee this morning, which was obviously not enough. I was thinking of Cinderella for some reason...
EDIT: renaissancemedi, that deus ex machina idea is pretty witty. :) What would the Russian version be?... Палочка-выручалочка? :))

to be on the German team. My current level is B2-C1 and I'd like to improve it.

Good! Anyone else for Korean?

I have no idea! I would go for a lovely Roublev angel (guardian angel?), but I am afraid it is too religious to use an icon.

I'm afraid that for me, the image of палочка-выручалочка was forever marred by Natasha Koroleva's provocative song...
We can always have a Василиса Премудрая.

I love the fact that you chose this moment to display a bit of self-censorship.
It's like "you really don't want to know what's going on inside my head right now; this is just the tip of the iceberg". :D
