I would vote for "Mon tailleur est riche" just because of the cultural connotations, but it is too long. Maybe it could be our motto! ;)
My vote is for "Deuxième" for its simplicity and the ability to shorten it to 2ème. I do like "Formidable", but not as much.

About your name -- French generally makes a distinction between the adjectives "deuxième" (meaning number 2 of however many) and "second" (meaning last of 2).
In other words, if there are only two teams and you want a different word from "deuxième", you can use something like "Seconde équipe" ;)

Just a small update to my last post: if I could, I'd like to be one of your observers/admirers or whatever is the position called in your team. I am not going to change and it wouldn't be right to be in both.
But I'm going to lurk on many of your logs as you appear to be a great team! I wish you to keep that level through whole 2014.

Good news, folks; We now have a second godparent!
Arekkusu has kindly agreed to volunteer for the job, and thus will be Stelle's co-godparent. He
too teaches; works as a translator, and has authored a course book on Quebec French. I'll let him add any
further details he might wish to himself, and would like to offer a warm welcome and thanks!
Brief note: I know Sizen (himself a Canadian) cracked a joke about Team Canada, and I myself suggested a
European (or other region of the Francophonie) native speaker as a co-godparent. But I don't think it would
be any problem having two Canadians as co-godparents, and should also nicely complement all the
European French which language learners are /have been already exposed to.
I haven't had time to post updates in my own log yet, but have been following all of yours; with such
enthusiasm, and two godparents at hand for advice, it should be an exciting and wonderful French-language
year!

Thanks, Arekkusu! - I'd never been clear on the distinction between the two.
It's good to know, but we'll have to stick with "Deuxième" in any case, as noms for team names have now
closed.
I feel"deuxième" is also nicely open-ended. If chosen as the team name (which, from the count so far -
barring last minute changes of votes - it may well be), members could name their own logs to indicate
that French is their second language (of possibly many other languages, for aspiring polyglots); or that they're
making a second round at learning it (well, let's not hope it's the second of many more), etc... It's not just that
we're the second French TAC team to be formed. And - who knows? - perhaps there may yet be a third
French TAC team ... (Hey, it's only January... <smile>)
