This is a simplified explanation of the method I introduce in https://redd.it/4sh7t2 look at
it because it has more information on how to use this method. This writing is the updated
version so there may be things missing on the previous post.
Use SRS. Use only the front side of the card
you put everything on the front so you can focus on comprehending instead of trying to
remember.
Two ways: using sentence + translations or sentence + meanings on the front
sentence + translations = read through text then immediately read through translation if you
don't remember
You are not supposed to try to remember. Did you have a difficult time trying to recall the
foreign text? If you did, you are doing it wrong. You have to turn off that " what was the
meaning again?" kind of feeling when you read the text.
sentence+ meanings = read through right away, whether you remember or not, use the meanings
to read the text right away if you don't
Mark wrong if you don't remember instantly after reading the text.
Optional- slide your finger through the text ( and translation) as you read. It will prevent
trying to remember.
For languages that don't have an alphabet like Chinese or Japanese, its okay if you forget
the reading, you are still "Good" as long as you remember the meaning. Just check the reading
to remember it then youre good.

My physical flashcards are have only the front side with the back side left blank. The matter is, both language used in the cards are target languages, not the meaning in native language.

@Robato, just a reminder that the majority of
members have moved to www.forum.language-
learners.org after software problems here. You are
welcome to post here or there or on both but note
that you need to register on the new site (ie your
HTLAL name and password won't work there). Don't
worry - sign up is much simpler over on LLOrg!
