I've used dokyausa.com for Thai books. It's based in Los Angeles, but very very slow. I
ordered four books and they've trickled in about a month apart each. Can't say I
recommend them but I will probably buy from them again, because the shipping seems
reasonable and I can't find any other resources.

Tamakai Books offer books in many different - sometimes rare - languages. Their webpage is in German only and postage ranges from 3 Euro to 13 Euro depending on the destination and weight of the order.

Argentinian bookstores:
http://www.tematika.com.ar/
http://www.capitulodos.com/
http://www.cuspide.com/
If you are interested to buy language books there, check out the "Diccionarios" section
of each page.
If you live in Europe and have Euros I recommend you to buy there. It is a lot cheaper
than buying books in Spain.

I figured this might be a good place to let you guys know that www.theLanguageBear.com is now offering Portuguese books.
Harry potter is available as well as a bunch of other multilingual stuff for kids and adults.

Just a little warning - when I tried to navigate to the Language Bear site, the google warning page kicked into action with reports that this site tries to download malicious software

Does anyone have anymore recommendations for sites where one can buy books in Swedish?

I've searched all of the ones listed on this thread, plus others I found on google, foreign versions of ebay and amazon (even though there isn't one for Sweden,) as well as secondhand sites like abebooks, alibris, etc.

Every site either didn't have what I was looking for (the Wizard of Oz in Swedish (Trollkarlen från Oz) or didn't ship to the US (such as Bokus) or was obscenely expensive (or all three!)

I managed to find that there's an inexpensive paperback version but most sites say it's out of print, and I can't find any others, especially no site that will ship to the US. :(
The only potentially "buyable" copies I've found of the book are older copies on Abebooks that were over fifty dollars. I did find a site (adlibris.com, not to be confused with alibris) where (assuming they'll take my US credit card/billing address) I can buy the audiobook on mp3/download for less than 20 USD, but I need the book as well.

(All this searching, and this isn't even an especially easy book for language learning/practice, I've found. But it's one of my favorite books of all time, so I'd really like a copy of the Swedish translation. It's kind of my thing, like some people collect the Little Prince (which, incidentally, I haven't found in Swedish either!)I've got 'OZ' in some of my other languages in either ebook or print (I finally tracked down a Dutch copy!) But Swedish (especially because there's also an audiobook, which I haven't found outside of English,) is definitely needed in my collection.

Since I've read the book countless times since I was a child, it never struck me as particularly difficult. But despite being a "children's book," now that I've seen it in other languages I've realized it's more a "adults read aloud to kids" type of book...at any rate it will drive those past tenses into your head.

Anyway, back to the point, if anyone has any other Swedish book sites to suggest, I'd be very grateful. I've googled my poor fingers to the bone, even searching by isbn I found for the cheap paperback version that doesn't actually seem to be available, just listed on the bookstores' websites to tease me. So close, yet so far.
