Thank you everyone again, for the help. The French course of Assimil and Hugo are very
much detailed, and if you remember them all, I presume one can reach B2 easily. For
German, it maybe a different issue, but for French, it is adequate. I have also found
Living Language French online.

Thank you Antanas, for French for Reading. Although it is expensive, I may use it later.

I apologize for this short interjection : But I am experiencing something which is
something called "wanderlust".

I have been updating Duolingo a little everyday as I am busy now, and I recently had
the impulse to to start Spanish there. Intially, it was a little difficult to do it,
but I could differentiate between the two after a while. I feel that French is a bit
easier than Spanish, but it depends.Spanish may be easier phonetically, but the grammar
is more difficult.

Particularly I do not have any strong motivation to learn French, like a travel offer
or so. I am simply learning it, because learning languages is one of my hobbies, and
French is my premiere amour. I have plans to study a few languages later, and them
being : Spanish, German , Japanese and Mandarin. People may say that it is wrong to do
so much, but I currently this strong desire to learn Spanish and other languages is on
me. I feel guilty but, I don't know. i will be happy to receive some experiences.

linguaholic_ch, my post is with the best of intentions.
Since you are looking into learning yet more languages, perhaps I can be excused for
the present post.

You use inelegant, if not outright incorrect English constructions in your posts. I do
not think you are at an English* level yet. I am pointing this out due to the following
reasons:
1. You might want to get to English* level for career or other reasons.
2. Non-native speakers on this forum must be given correct constructs to emulate. A
star might imply to someone that the starholder is an authority on proper language
usage. Your English* might lead to people learning wrong things.
3. If you decide to improve English, and also continue French, and also work, it would
be extremely difficult to pick up yet another language.

Disclaimer: As you can see, I am not English* so perhaps I am incorrect, and you are
using perfectly good English. In that case, please excuse me.

@Gemeuse:
Give the guy a break.
I do not disagree with you, for the most part.
But did you need to be this rude?
Perhaps a PM would have been a better way to help him?
Much better than attacking him in him own thread, IMHO.

I was not trying to attack, and I had considered the PM option; but since I am not
English*, I felt perhaps my opinion was invalid. This way at least people can say "No
Gemuse, YOUR English is not good enough".

There is also another thing, that I wish that people had called ME out on my crappy
English. I only realized recently how bad my prose was after I started learning German
and paying closer attention to language in general. And I was like "*%$#, have I been
writing such %&%$ for years without realizing?!? FML"

Anyway, I realize it might have been rude. I deeply and sincerely apologize to
linguaholic_ch. I only wanted to help, and to give feedback which I wish would have
been given to me years ago.

PS: Dear HTAL, I would really appreciate it if you would correct my English whenever
you see any mistakes/inelegancy.
&%$& So inelegancy is not a word? I should have used inelegance.

It is not a problem at all. I have changed the setting in English, in my profile. So now, it will no longer appear as
English*.

I have witnessed this myself, that my writing skills is deteriorating day by day. I don't have any problems in
comprehension, and English is the only language I work with, 24/7.Everything I read and write in, is in English.
But, when I write essays in school, I suffer from heart palpitations and anxiety of not being able to give my best.
This jars my nerves and then, I can't even do a simple math problem. I become a nervous wreck. Expressing myself
has been a major problem of mine since childhood. I can't even socialize well, like my peers do. I can't even write
a Facebook post properly. My preferences are different, and that's a reason, I do not have any friends like
teenagers of my age do. Reading good literature always gives me a boost to express myself, and right now, I have no
opportunity to read some books, owing to my exams and my convalescent materials which I have to revise daily.

I am not writing this to find an excuse for the flaws in my prose, I am just sharing this because I felt like it was
necessary to do so.I have no problems in understanding course books written in English. But I agree that my prose
needs work. And I do miss a few words sometimes.

My advice would be to drop yet another new language (for now). Focus on improving your
English (advanced level), and either French or Spanish (beginner level). We must have
at least ONE language in which we can express ourselves well.

There are a few of us advanced English learners on HTAL.

Wanderlust is normal, but if you dont reign it in, you do not become good at anything.
Just barely mediocre at a lot of things.

Yes, I will improve my English which is my daily task from now on.I will try to complete
my reading lists of classics which always longed for. For the time being, let me have a
solid base in French, then I will see. What do you day?
