I cannot tell you what is best for you, since I know very little about you. I personally
prefer studying without a teacher or courses, just from textbooks and other material. But
I believe, it is good to study the first one or two foreign languages at school or at a
course. I do not know your age, but as a person living in Europe, you must have studied
one or two foreign languages at school. If you have some knowledge of English and you
want to reach a higher level, you do not need a tutor or a course. For some skills even a
good tutor or a good course cannot help you much. For instance, if you want to expand
your passive vocabulary and listening comprehension, the best way is to read and to
listen to English texts.

Thank you so much for your advices! ;) I'd like to learn Spanish, it's such a beautiful
and melodious language. I like going out with people, so I think I would find a language
buddy. I also like listening to music and watching movies. So the plan is: watching
movies without subtitles ;) can you recommend me a good Spanish musician so I can listen
to it? ;)

Hi AliceM!
I'm crossing my fingers for you. I like people who want learn new languages just with no
special reason. I'm trying my best in Chinese now. I'm also doing it by watching movies
(but with subtitles because it also helps me to remember Chinese characters). I also like
listening to music. I'm always so proud of myself when I can catch some word I have
already learned ;) From Spanish singers I would suggest Carlos Santana but maybe it will
not fit you well. Hmmm, oh yes I know! How about Shakira? You can check the spelling
later on many websites with lyrics. I always use: www.lyriczz.com

Do the following:

1. Pimsleur 1 and 2
2. Michel Thomas Foundations Twice
3. Assimil Spanish with Ease
4. Michel Thomas Advanced Twice
5. Assimil Spanish with Ease Active Wave
6. FSI (each lesson three times)

If you do 30 minutes a day on 1-5 and then 60 minutes a day on FSI you will be done with this plan in less than a year and a half. You will be able to speak, read and understand the language quite well. You will be quite well prepared to jump into native materials at that point.
