	Thanks Rachel! Mango Languages really is a great program to gain a basic grasp of the grammar and most important vocabulary. I have the Library edition and I find it very useful for learning pronunciation, especially since Danish is known to be a difficult language to pronounce. Unfortunately, as I am busy during the week, this long will probably mostly be a weekend-by-weekend account instead of day-by-day. One question, do the library and standard editions of Mango Languages differ in any way? 1 person has voted this message useful

	We're so glad to hear you're liking the program! And weekend-by-weekend sounds great too! :) Great question! In terms of content, the library and individual products are the same. There are a couple differences though: When using the library edition, you access Mango remotely and must have an internet connection. If you purchase Mango Passport for individuals, you download the course onto your computer and once downloaded, you don't need an internet connection to use it. Library patrons have free access to the Mango iPhone app! We are currently developing more mobile options for individuals and different platforms but for now you check out Mango in the App Store. When you purchase Mango Passport for individuals you can also download Mango On-The-Go which is the audio version of the course for MP3 players. 	Day 10: I've gone through 6.25 hours of Mango Languages and I'm up to lesson 52. I haven't had much time over the week to work on my Danish but I've tried to read through some simple Danish news articles to pick out words that I can understand and cognates. It's surprising that in these (very simple) articles, sometimes I can understand them in their entirety without looking up any words and in others, I don't understand anything. I can't really say that I've progressed much from last week, but practice has helped me familiarize myself with the slightly different word order in Danish. Lately, I've been using Anki to work on my vocabulary and I'm up to 60 cards per day. I'm not sure if making my own cards will be worth it the vocabulary gain considering how time consuming it seems so I'm just using a downloaded deck with about 4000 beginner and intermediate vocabulary words. Danish phrase of the day: Hvad er det, der er så sjovt? Considering the above phrase, is it really necessary to make it so wordy? Is it possible to say, "Hvad er så sjovt?" 1 person has voted this message useful

	Day 18: I finished 8.5 hours of Mango Languages and I'm on lesson 79. There are only 6 more lessons to go so I decided to purchase "Beginner's Danish (Danish Edition)" to take over as my main source of instruction. I'm glad that I started didn't buy the book earlier since it starts off with difficult dialogue off the bat and I would've probably been discouraged. I went through two lessons in the book and it seems to provide a decent explanation of grammar and good practice lessons, although a bit on the difficult side. I've also started to keep a daily diary in Danish on lang- 8 although I'm sure I won't be able to maintain it daily for long. Can anyone recommend any good listening practice for beginners in Danish? 1 person has voted this message useful

	I've stalled on my learning of Danish for a while now and I hope to resume learning once I have time again. For now, reading simple articles and trying to retain the vocabulary that I've built up so far is enough to maintain my interest and to make sure that I don't forget that I was studying this fascinating language! If anyone could recommend any passive learning resources, that would be great! 1 person has voted this message useful

	I don't know if you ever saw the links Here They're for all Scandinavian languages, including Danish, of course. There are some links for free courses with audio. Good stuff, I imagine. If you're thinking about something like podcasts, there's Copenhagencast and One Minute Danish. You can find them both through Itunes, and Copenhagencast also has its own webpage of the same name. 	I've left this log dormant for quite a while due to major time constraints that I've had in the past few months. Now however, I will have a lot of free time and I will prioritize my Danish studies above all else. I intend to finish Beginner's Danish by the end of the summer at least.
