I have started on Pimsleur Ukrainian, and am on lesson 13 now. I realize that for the moment I will only gain
passive knowledge in Ukrainian, since every time I am asked to say something in Ukrainian, only Russian comes out. I really enjoy being able to understand as much as I do, though, and since I am going to Ukraine soon, it would be nice to understand a bit, and at least know which language they are speaking. I also listened to a few Pimsleur lessons in Croatian, and was really happy to see that in the 4-5 lessons I have listened to so far, I understood almost everything. Between what I remembered of Polish from 20 years ago, what I know of Russian and what little I have learned of Ukrainian I could understand everything except 5-6 words.
