Here's an updated tally of the votes cast thus far:
- 9 votes for Team Ohana
- 3 votes for Team ÇÜ
- 3 votes for Team KEN
- 2 votes for Team あ
- 1 vote for Team Œ
- 1 vote for Team Ő
- 1 vote for TixhiiDon
There's still a little over a day left in 2011 (or at least where I am) -- you can still cast your votes until then.

I will vote for team Ohana as well. I really enjoy reading everyone's logs, though. You are all so inspirational. =)

Maybe in future TAC competitions we might have other "awards" something like schools do for graduating

Most Improved
Most Likely to Succeed
Best Performance in a Linguistic Drama (just kidding there!)
It could get too complicated, maybe, but would give recognition to other outstanding TAC participants who
completed a year's work on their projects. Just an idea! |

Of course, folks could just make up their own (facetious or otherwise) categories (possibly on a different thread?)
too: For example, your own log, Meramarina, would be a candidate for "Most stalwart language-learning
dedication in the face of hurricanes" Award; Spanky's might be "Tongue so firmly in cheek one wonders
how he speaks any languages at all" Award. Both of your logs would be strong contenders for the "Made me
Smile" Award.
Other possibilities: "Most creative language learning strategies" Award, with a humorous counterpart "Most
(ahem) 'creative' language learning strategies" Award. In the interests of forum peace, I won't suggest a "Most
ambitious language learning goals (failed)" category, though I suspect too many of us might find ourselves
candidates for that one!
Updated to add: I've just started a thread for this, entitled TAC 2011: The "Alt Awards". Feel free to add to it as
you wish.

On a more serious note, another idea:
Allowing folks to vote for both Team Challenge and the Individual Challenge paticipants.

I agree, fun categories and especially voting for individual participants would be good!

Can we make it official now and declare team Ohana as our 2011 TAC winner(s)?
Thanks for all the hard work, dedication, and wonderful insights you've given to our forum - award-worthy accomplishments for sure!
But, of course, anyone who is a long-term independent language learner deserves recognition. I know, I know, the learners out there are saying now: "You sadly misunderstand me! I don't do it for the glory....
No matter! You win the TAC (Total Admiration Challenge)!

As a member of team Ohana I would like to thank all those who have followed our logs and voted for us. Both ellasevia and I had a tough year, so to be honoured by winning the TAC is mind blowing.
There are so many great log writers out there, and I have enjoyed reading your logs so much. My own log I have used partly as an instrument to see how much studying I got done, and partly as therapy to get through some very hard times. The support and sympathy I have received from readers of my log has sometimes been what kept me sane.
Thank you again, both for the votes and the support. You have no idea how much both have meant to me.
A big hug to you all, Cristina

Are Solfrid Cristin and Ellasevia going to get a blue TAC 2011 WINNER badge next to their name like other winners?
I think they should.
