¡Hola Lobos!
Well, 2014 is well under way! Since this is my first TAC, I'm not quite sure what to expect. Will this thread stay active
throughout the year? Or will all interactions move to our individual logs? Will there be team challenges?
Hope the Spanish-learning is going well for everyone!

I was sort of wondering the same thing. I have no experience with TAC either...

¡Ojalá que sí! Me parece que esos serían muy beneficiosos.

¡Hola amigos!
If it is not to late, I would like to sign up for Team Lobo. My log is at
Tom's Log
I hope I'm posting this in the right place because this is my first attempt at this.
Gracias,
Tomás José

One of the first English grammar bits I was taught is that having sentence subjects is mandatory, which apparently results in L1 interference here.
Let me recast this with a minimal change that makes it sound much better: "Me parece que serían muy beneficiosos."
I figure you meant to say "those", alluding to the team challenges. That's OK but it sounds like you were trying to somehow say they are different from other challenges, which would need to appear in context for the distinction to make sense. There's no context, though, so the original sounds a bit off.
Another minimal alternative might be "Me parece eso que sería muy beneficioso.", maybe easier for English speakers because it still uses an explicit subject, "that, what she said", but please note that it is in the singular, etc.
Hope this helps, and please don't hesitate to debate my corrections, nor to tell me if I'm being too heavy-handed or anything :)

You are correct. I did not mean to imply emphasis or contrast, so that "esos" was
unneeded there. I didn't even notice I had done that until you pointed it out (and I'm usually
pretty good about remembering to drop unnecessary pronouns since both Spanish and
Korean use them very sparingly). Thanks and corrections are always welcome. :)

That depends - every team is different. I would love to do little mini-challenges. Last year, on Team Pax, we did a few. Besides the obvious introductions, we did some favorite songs, regional cuisine, and something else I forgot. I think a few of the other teams last year had more activity with that sort of thing. (If anyone wants to check out the other team threads for ideas, that would be cool. I'm short on time at the moment. Well, most moments. LOL)
Please, please, please. I am super busy, and sometimes HTLAL is not a priority. If you have an idea for a challenge or anything, post it!
We can start with introductions. Some of us are relatively new around here, some of us have been around for a really long time. Tell us about yourself, your experience with Spanish, why you're studying it, what your goals are, etc. If you're a beginner, just write a sentence or two in Spanish. You can do the rest in English if you need to. :)
