@Mooby, yes, I've had to put Italian on hold. But I'm still going to Rome in the spring, so it is only a temporary

I am working on Koine Greek (... Basement Greek, anyone? :D). Though, I have been toying
with the idea of possibly delving into Attic at some undetermined point in the future to broaden the range of what I can read. But, since I got my start in Koine (and will have the most practical use for Koine), I figure it makes the most sense to stick with that for the time being. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

I'd like to read the works of Ancient Greece in the original and Attic seems to be the best starting point - later
on I can transition into Homeric Greek, etc. For the time being, Attic will allow me to familiarize myself with Aeschylus, Sophocles, Plato, and Aristotle, among others. I also want to read the New Testament and early Christian writers, but from what I can tell I'll been able to understand most of what I read in Koine just as a result of my knowledge of Attic. I've only been studying Greek seriously for about 9 months, but so far it's been a lot of fun! 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Well, I am not doing a very good job of keeping up with this log. I promise that it is NOT because I am not studying languages. In fact, it is the opposite - I am so busy with languages (and other studies of course) that I simply don't have time to post here. When it comes down to it, I would rather master irregular Greek verbs than write about doing so.
So, anyway, I just wanted to pop in to say that my studies are progressing well, in spite of my long absence. Over Christmas break I will probably give some sort of summary of the year. 2 persons have voted this message useful |
