I'm glad to see you back and at it, your logs are always great!

Nice dialog, though i think you've either been watching too many Julius Caesar films or have some French influence with that "et".

How are you finding Italian with your background in French?

Excellent, thanks Gary.

Tuscany, and in particular Florence / Firenze, may be perfect for us from what I have read so far. Still considering whether to include Rome on this trip. May be dependent on how many of the extended kinfolk may be going. I expect it will be easier (not necessarily easy, but easier) to travel as a group in areas away from Rome.

D'oh!! [insert my best Homer Simpson impression here]. Yep, cursed French strikes again.

Characterizing my past tangles with French to constitute a "background" is exceedingly generous of you!   I am actually finding more interference from the very modest amount of Spanish I studied earlier this year:   The phrase "Come stai" invariably comes out in the following manner: "Como ... er, dang, nope... Come stai"

I've written "et" in Italian a few times, and written "e" in French more than a few times...

I have found it so far to be a fun language to learn and I expect you will find all of
your previous work with French will be of considerable assistance for you with Italian.
Good luck!
