The site fsi-language-courses.org hasn't been working for quite some time
now. It was a great resource. Probably, the only one of its kind. The owners
used their own money to host the site. They needn't have done what they did.
Yet they facilitated language learning for thousands like me, all over the
world. For that, I am grateful.
I have uploaded a quarter of the entire FSI French Basic Course; the first
six units from Volume 1 on archive.org.
http://archive.org/detail
s/Volume1Unit0101.01

I will upload the rest of the course shortly.
Should we let such a great repository disappear? Should it not be preserved,
so that others might partake of it and benefit?
If only something could be done to keep the FSI materials online...

Restarted FSI FBC from where I had left off. Did unit 3 tape 2.
Have started reading Heinlein's "Starship Troopers"(Étoiles, garde—à—vous).

Did FSI FBC unit 4 tape 3. Struggled with the questions-on-the-dialogue.

Did Chps 6, 7 and, 8 from Grammaire Progressive du Français Niveau Débutant(GPDFND)
I had started Persepolis after reading emk's wonderfully informative post on BDs(french comic book). Finished the first part of the four part series today. It tells the story of the Iranian Islamic Revolution through the eyes of a young girl.
It's a gripping read. And a real page turner. I would recommend it to all my friends if it were available in English!
EDIT: Turns out that I was mistaken: the entire series is available in English, amongst a host of other languages.

I'd really like to read Persepolis, too. When I have some money to buy it... :-)

How are you finding the Grammaire Progressive ?

@tastyonions:
I can't recommend Persepolis enough. Yes, it's that good! I must admit that I had to look up a couple of words, but it was worth it.
As far as the Grammaire Progressive books are concerned, I tried my hand at all the three books: Conjugaison Progressive, the debutant and the intermediaire grammaire book, before finally settling down with the grammaire progressive niveau debutant. It's great for reinforcing grammar points. I love its format: explanations on one side and exercises on the other. And the best thing is that it's all in french!
Although the first few chapters were rather easy, it's getting more and more difficult as I progress further into the book.
Thanks for dropping by!
P.S. I really liked the site you recommended in your log(francebienvenue1.wordpress.com). Thanks!
